Our Mission StatementThe Anglican Order of Friars Preachers was founded in the Continuing Anglican Church to foster religious vocations and to maintain the apostolate of preaching salvation and the orthodox catholic faith. We continue to be governed by the ancient Rule of St. Augustine as St. Dominic adapted it for his spiritual children. Additionally, the Fundamental Constitution and the Book of Constitutions and Ordinations of the Order of Friars Preachers. We also have a Customary which is the non constitutional document by which the Anglican Order is governed. |
Dominican Nuns
The Second Order
Unlike the sisters and friars, the nuns are always celibate and they live the contemplative life in a traditional enclosure. There is currently only one monastery of Nuns in the Anglican Dominican Order. Far from being inactive in the apostolate, the nuns are very active. Their life of sacrifice, mortification and prayer is the most eloquent sermon possible. Especially today, when self gratification and self worship is the highest ideal, these women show us what our Lord meant when he told us that to find real life, eternal life we had to lay down our own lives.
